Premier League duo Chelsea and Newcastle United are ready to make Inter wingback Ivan Perisic a contract offer to join on a free transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the interest of Juventus is unlikely to result in a major contract offer but that the English teams are serious.

Perisic has yet to respond to the Nerazzurri’s offer on a new deal from yesterday’s meeting, but if he decides to decline their offer for an extension there will be no shortage of interest in his signature on a free transfer.

The Bianconeri have been one of the clubs reported to be keen on the 33-year-old’s signature, but so far their interest has not materialized in an offer which would be larger than that put forward by Inter.

Chelsea and Newcastle, however, are serious about bringing Perisic to the English top flight and are prepared to make their offers.
