Premier League duo Chelsea and Newcastle United are ready to make Inter wingback Ivan Perisic a contract offer should he not agree a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the two English clubs are closely following the 33-year-old’s situation and ready to swoop.

Inter held contract talks with Perisic on Monday where they made their improved offer, and they are waiting for a response from the Croat.

The contract talks between the Nerazzurri and Perisic have come to the decisive phase, and if he decides not to accept the offer that is on the table then he will be free to leave on a free transfer when his current contract runs out at the end of next month.

Juventus had been among the teams interested, but the primary interest looks to be from the Premier League where Chelsea and Newcastle are very keen.
