Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has said that AS Roma will have a new proposal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the next few hours, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported on, AS Roma have not given up hope of keeping Henrikh Mkhitaryan for next season.

It has been widely reported that the player has chosen to head to Inter on a free transfer but the Giallorossi will make a fresh offer soon.

“The Armenian will have a new proposal from Roma for a renewal in the next few hours, and until then it will only be necessary to wait with caution.”

The journalist also confirmed that Inter are ready to offer him a two-year contract so the offer from AS Roma could be too little too late.

“Inter are ready to offer a two-year deal for a sum not too far from €4 million per season.”

It is a case of waiting to see if the newly-crowned UEFA Europa Conference League champions can persuade their Armenian star to stay in the capital rather than head north to Inter where he is guaranteed Champions League football.

“Now we wait for Roma’s last attempt, but it might be too late. Inter have their engines fired up.”
