Inter will be the ones to make the final decision on the situation of striker Lautaro Martinez during the summer transfer window.

This according to Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, who spoke to the Twitch channel of Italian news outlet Calciomercato.it, via FCInterNews, and updated on the situation of the 24-year-old at the Nerazzurri.

Martinez’s future has been the subject of much speculation, with no shortage of transfer interest in the Argentine from big clubs around Europe and the player having been linked with a sale with a big name likely to be cashed in on this summer.

According to Merlo, the situation remains that Martinez wants to stay at Inter for next season, but his future is in the Nerazzurri’s hands as they could still decide to make a sale to bring in cash.

“Camano confirmed to me that the situation is the same,” he said, referring to Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano who has been representing him in talks with the club. “Lautaro’s mind is only set on Inter. The ball is in their court.”
