AS Roma’s last hope of keeping Henrikh Mkhitaryan next season is to get Jose Mourinho to have a talk with the Armenian today, according to a report in the Italian media this afternoon.

As has been reported by FCInternews, various media outlets are reporting that the Armenian midfielder has opted to reject AS Roma’s contract offer and accept Inter’s which is a two-year deal on €3.5 million per season.

He still needs to carry out the necessary medical examinations but providing AS Roma cannot change his mind, he seems set to become Inter’s latest signing.

The Giallorossi won the Europa Conference League on Wednesday night and are partying back in Rome. The club intend to get head coach Jose Mourinho to have a chat with the midfielder and convince him to stay at the club.

AS Roma’s offer is a one-year deal with an option for a second with a salary of €3 million, so Inter are certainly more attractive in that sense.
