AS Roma are ready to up their offer to Henrikh Mkhitaryan to stop him from joining Inter on a free transfer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Giallorossi have not let go of all hope to keep their Armenian midfielder.

It emerged on Thursday that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has agreed to join Inter on a free transfer and has rejected the offer from his current club.

Inter’s offer was a salary of around €4 million for two seasons and fairly easy to achieve bonuses. The Giallorossi will now respond with a contract that is almost identical to what Inter have offered.

The ball is effectively in the 33-year-old’s court as he must choose whether to remain with the newly-crowned UEFA Conference League winners or head to Inter where he can play in the Champions League next season.
