Turkey coach Stefan Kuntz has said that having players like Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu allows them to start a new cycle, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during his press conference ahead do the upcoming international fixtures, via FCInternews, Stefan Kuntz explained that having some high-quality players allows the national team to start a new cycle after their disappointing time at EURO 2020.

“Our team has a new hierarchy, having names like Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Enes Ünal here will give us the opportunity to start a new cycle.”

Hakan Calhanoglu has proved to be an excellent piece of business after joining the Nerazzurri on a free transfer in the summer last season.

There were a lot of concerns about his inconsistency and his lack of running off the ball but Simone Inzaghi has got the best out of him as part of a midfield three.

He is now seen as a key part of the team alongside Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic. The signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan will challenge him in his position.
