Inter will be able to accelerate in their pursuit of Paulo Dybala on a free transfer once Ivan Perisic leaves the club to join Tottenham Hotspur.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that with Perisic set to depart for Tottenham Hotspur, the Nerazzurri will have space freed up on their wage bill to accommodate Dybala.

Dybala is one of Inter’s main targets for the summer transfer window, but before they can make him their offer they must get space freed up on their wage bill, given that the Argentine will command significant wages and slashing the wage bill is one of the financial targets for the window.

However, the departure of Perisic on a free transfer will mean that one of the club’s higher earners will not be staying on an improved deal, and will be replaced with a younger player who earns less, making a deal for Dybala easier.
