Inter have informed Roma that they have a verbal agreement with Henrikh Mkhitaryan for a free transfer this summer.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri have notified the Giallorossi that they are in talks with the Armenian, and that the Giallorossi can still push for a contract extension.

Inter have identified Mkhitaryan as a significant opportunity on a free transfer, and they are not wasting any time in trying to move forward on a deal.

Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio has told his Roma counterpart Tiago Pinto that talks are ongoing with the 33-year-old whose current deal is set to expire at the end of next month, and that there is a verbal agreement in place but no contract.

The Giallorossi are still hopeful that they can convince the player to change his mind given that there is not yet a formal agreement in place with Inter.
