Inter-linked wingback Andrea Cambiaso could be on the move from Genoa this summer, with several clubs in Serie A and elsewhere in Europe keen on his signature.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the 22-year-old’s agent Giovanni Bia also gave the view that the summer transfer window will not see many big-money signings by Italian clubs for financial reasons.

Cambiaso has emerged as a target for Inter as they seek a young Italian player with high potential to reinforce the left side of their team in the event that Ivan Perisic departs in the summer.

The 22-year-old’s form in his first season of top flight football earned many admirers even as his team suffered relegation.

The Nerazzurri look to be among Cambiaso’s most prominent suitors, but as his agent Bia explained, they are far from the only team eyeing up a move for the young wingback.

“He had a very good season with Genoa, many teams in Italy and in Europe have set their sights on him,” Bia said of Cambiaso. “Right now he’s under contract with Genoa, we’ll have to sit down and talk with the Rossoblu.”

Of the transfer window in Italy, he said that “It will be another bear market, unfortunately we’re losing our luster, many players prefer to go to other leagues rather than come to play here.”

“In recent years this league has gone stale,” he added. “Inter and Juve have to sell before buying. All clubs have to be mindful of their budgets.”
