Former Parma and Ancona goalkeeper  Alessandro Nista feels that the error that Inter goalkeeper Andrei Radu made in the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 loss to Bologna last month was not the moment that lost his team the Serie A title.

Speaking to Italian news outlet MilanNews, Nista gave the view that even though the Romanian’s error was a costly moment, it was not the decisive moment that handed AC Milan the title.

Inter had looked on course to win the Scudetto going into their clash with Bologna, knowing that their fate was in their hands and that with wins from all of their remaining matches they would be guaranteed of the title.

This was never going to be easy, of course, but an early goal against the Rossoblu made it appear as though the Nerazzurri would take three points away from Emilia-Romagna.

Instead, a first-half equalizer by Marko Arnautovic put things into Milan’s hands, while Radu’s howler to gift the Rossoblu a late winner put the Rossoneri in even greater control in the title race.

Nista stated that “There’s a lot of talk about Radu’s error against Bologna. In my opinion it was not a decisive error as far as the race for the Scudetto, Inter had clearly dropped off over the second half of the season in terms of results.”

“It’s always been the way people talk about these things,” he added, “it’s always easier to remember a goalkeeper’s mistake.”
