Inter will meet with Empoli this week to try and work out a deal to sign midfielder Kristjan Asllani, and could offer striker Sebastiano Esposito as part of a deal.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri will try and make inroads on a deal for the 20-year-old and that the meeting with Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi has been set for this week.

Asllani has been identified as one of the Nerazzurri’s major targets for the summer window and the priority option to back up Marcelo Brozovic in the squad for next season.

Convincing the Empoli on a sale for the Albanian could be difficult, but a meeting will take place with the Tuscans this week to try and make progress on a deal.

Esposito spent last season on loan with Basel, but the Swiss side have not chosen to make his stay a permanent one, and while they’re hoping for another loan Inter could instead offer him in addition to cash to convince Empoli on a deal for Asllani.
