The agent of Inter-owned defender Lorenzo Pirola will meet with both the Nerazzurri and his loan club Monza to decide upon his future now that Monza have achieved promotion to Serie A.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the clubs will decide on what to do with Monza having a purchase option for €8 million but the Nerazzurri having a counter-option to immediately buy him back for €9 million.

Having confirmed that they will be in Serie A next season, Monza could decide that they want to make Pirola a permanent part of their squad for the top flight, and if so the Nerazzurri could take the €8 million fee as pure capital gains.

However, given the 20-year-old’s potential, Inter could decide that they do not yet want to lose him on a permanent basis, and could prefer keeping him and loaning him back to Monza, or to another destination.

Should Pirola not be ready for the top flight, Serie B promotion hopefuls Parma and Modena are among the teams interested in his signature.
