Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is pushing for the signing of midfielder Kristjan Asllani from Empoli, and the Nerazzurri will meet with the Tuscans soon.

This according to Italian news outlet La Repubblica, who report that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta will soon meet with Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi to try and convince him on a deal for the 20-year-old.

Inzaghi is set on bringing in a player capable of deputizing for Marcelo Brozovic in the squad ahead of next season given the Croat’s importance to the team and the difficulties they have had replacing him on the few occasions he has been absent.

Asllani has been identified as the first-choice target, as the club like the Albanian’s profile and he has room to further improve, and the coach has been pressing to get the signing done.

Marotta will soon meet with Empoli President Corsi with the aim of trying to get a deal done for Asllani.
