Salernitana have inquired about the availability of Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito ahead of next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Salerno-based newspaper La Citta di Salerno, who report that the Campanian club would be interested in signing the 19-year-old.

Salernitana narrowly avoided relegation to Serie B over the second half of the season just gone, with coach Davide Nicola masterminding one of the most dramatic relegation escapes in recent memory to keep them in the top flight.

For their second season in Serie A, the club will be aiming to further reinforce the squad that had already been significantly strengthened with the addition of several signings during the January transfer window.

Esposito is one of the names that they would be interested in, with the 19-year-old having spent last season on loan with Basel but now having his future up in the air.

Meanwhile, Salernitana have also inquired about Genoa wingback Andrea Cambiaso, one of Inter’s targets to replace Ivan Perisic.
