Inter have made Empoli’s Kristjan Asllani and two further signings to replace the outgoing Matias Vecino and Arturo Vidal their priorities for the midfield during the summer transfer window.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that Asllani would be the Nerazzurri’s designated backup to Marcelo Brozovic in midfield whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan also looks close to arriving to further shore up in central areas.

The first-choice trio of Brozovic, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicolo Barella looks set in stone ahead of next season, but the club will be aiming for a significant reshuffle as far as the players making up the rest of the options.

A player with the right profile to deputize for Brozovic has always looked likely to be a priority for the summer, and now Inter have one name in mind above all others in the form of Asllani.

Meanwhile, Vecino and Vidal are set to leave the club, and so further options must be brought in to bolster the position, with Mkhitaryan looking to be the first signing.
