Monza have returned to Serie A after securing promotion with their thrilling win over Pisa on Sunday evening in the Serie B playoff final.

The newly-promoted club reached the top flight with help from Inter players such as Michele Di Gregorio and Lorenzo Pirola, and will be hoping for a memorable first campaign back in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri congratulated the Lombard club for their promotion from Serie B in a tweet from their official Twitter account.

They posted, “Congratulations to @AcMonza for securing promotion to Serie A for the first time in the club’s history. Welcome to the top tier of Italian football!”
