Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku will meet with his club by the middle of next month after Inter made clear that they will only be able to complete a deal for him on loan if it is done before June 30.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 29-year-old will have to convince Chelsea to sanction a loan move on the Nerazzurri’s terms by the end of June so that the Growth Decree can be applied to his wages.
Inter and Lukaku’s lawyer met today where it was confirmed that there will be little trouble agreeing personal terms between the parties, but also that the real stumbling block will be persuading Chelsea on the move.
There is a clear deadline for when the move would be feasible, as the Nerazzurri can only apply the tax benefits of the Growth Decree to Lukaku’s wages if he is signed by June 30, and otherwise his gross wages would be too steep.
There is no chance of a permanent sale, but the Nerazzurri could afford a deal if it were to be an initial loan move, though convincing the Blues of a move that would be feasible for them could be tough given the massive investment that the striker’s signing last summer represented.
However, Lukaku is determined to transfer back to the Nerazzurri, and he will meet with his current club by the middle of June to try and convince him.
