Newly-promoted Cremonese are interested in signing Inter goalkeeper Andrei Radu for next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 25-year-old would be the Lombard club’s first choice if they have to replace Mauro Carnesecchi in goal.

Cremonese gained promotion from Serie B with Carnesecchi in goal, but given that the 21-year-old is on loan from Atalanta, they may not be able to rely on him in the top flight.

In the event that Carnesecchi departs back to his parent club, the newly-promoted team are ready to make a move for Radu, who appears destined for a move away from the Nerazzurri.

The Romanian has had a very limited role to play over the past couple seasons, and also committed a high-profile error in an important Serie A clash with Bologna which dented his confidence.

Whilst Radu had the support of many of his teammates after the error, the sense is that there is still some blame for him, and his desire is to go elsewhere and rebuild his confidence and his career.
