Inter look to be by far the likelier side than Roma to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan for next season.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri are in pole position to bring the 33-year-old in on a free transfer while the Giallorossi do no look likely to extend his contract beyond the end of June.

Roma have aimed to keep Mkhitaryan beyond the end of the month when his current deal runs out, especially with coach Jose Mourinho having urged to keep him on, but they appear to have largely given up in their pursuit.

The player has made his decision and looks to favour Inter, whose offer and the promise of Champions League football next season has went some way towards convincing him.

It now looks to be only a matter of time before the Nerazzurri get a deal wrapped up for Mkhitaryan on a free transfer unless the Giallorossi make a dramatic final push.
