Inter have taken the decision to extend Christian Chivu’s contract as coach of the Primavera team after they won the title, according to a report in the Italian print media

As has reported by Tuttosport today, the option to extend Christian Chivu’s contract by one year was exercised and he will now be the coach until 2023.

The decision came after Inter won the Primavera title, beating AS Roma in the final. They won that game 2-1 on May 31.

Some backstory as to how they reached the final has also emerged. Inter played against Cagliari in the semi-final and they were 3-0 down at half time and the coach reminded them of all the hard work they had put in all season, rather than yelling at the players.

They responded and scored three goals at the end of the game, enough to force a 3-3 draw which sent them to the final by virtue of their superior league position to Cagliari.
