Marcelo Brozovic is a strong doubt for Croatia’s Nations League match against Austria and he is joining a long line of absentees, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInternews, the Croatian midfielder has been training separately to the rest of the squad in the past few days of match preparation and now he is a doubt to take the field against the Austrians.

The deputy to Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic, Vedran Corluka, refused to state whether Marcelo Brozovic is fit or not but said that if he is well enough then he will play the game.

“When he is well, he will play. We will announce the line-up when the coach wants. We are not sure who will start given the situation with Luka Modric.”

There are a number of important players out injured for Croatia right now. As well as Marcelo Brozovic, they will be without Marko Livaja, Petar Musa, former Inter winger Ivan Perisic and RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

The last on that list has been linked with a move to Inter lately.
