Inter believe that they could announce the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan by Tuesday next week, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the Armenian is expected to give his answer on Friday about whether he will sign the contract extension with AS Roma or leave and take the deal offered by Inter instead.

The Giallorossi gave him that deadline to inform him of his decision. The two clubs have essentially offered him the same contract with a base salary of €3.5 million for next season.

The only difference is that Inter’s deal lasts for two years whereas if he accepts AS Roma’s deal, the second year will only be triggered under certain conditions.

Both sides have offered up €2 million as the signing on fee should he choose them. It is widely believed that Inter are on pole to win the race as the Giallorossi let the Armenian slip away and have his head turned.
