Inter’s chase for Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca has been put on standby and Arsenal have emerged as a possible destination for the Italian, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Repubblica, Inter are not pushing ahead with any negotiations for Gianluca Scamacca because they are focused on the signings of Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku which are complicated operations.

Inter do have an agreement with the player for personal terms but they are not very far along with the club.

In the meantime, Premier League side Arsenal have become very interested in Gianluca Scamacca and they are ready to invest around €35 million in him. Sassuolo are still asking for €50 million so the negotiations will be entering a key phase in the coming days.

For a long time it seemed that Inter was the obvious destination for Gianluca Scamacca but the price tag has become prohibitive.
