The amount of minutes played by Inter’s key players last season shows why more quality depth is needed at the club, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, nine of Simone Inzaghi’s outfield players racked up more than 3000 minutes on the pitch last season.

Those players were Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni, Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan de Vrij, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ivan Perisic, Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko.

In comparison, Scudetto winning AC Milan only had four players that played for over 3000 minutes during the season, showing that their rotation was more effective.

It shows that if Inter are to build and not have a dip in form next season like the one in January and February that ultimately cost them the title, they need to have better players to rotate with. This will be tough to achieve given the financial situation this summer.
