The chance to play in the Champions League again was a key part of why Henrikh Mkhitaryan has chosen to sign for Inter, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport in Italy, via FCInter1908, the Armenian is very keen to impress on the biggest stage in Europe towards the end of his career and he knows that he can do that at Inter next season but AS Roma will only be in the Europa League.

His current deal with the Giallorossi expires on June 30 this year and he was offered a new deal by his club. They gave him until the end of Friday to give them an answer and he informed them that he will not be signing the deal.

He is ready to sign a two-year deal worth €4.5 million per season with Inter and will get his wish of playing in the Champions League.
