Henrikh Mkhitaryan could wear the shirt numbers 7 or 22 at Inter once they are vacated following the departures of Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 33-year-old will be able to choose from two of his former shirt numbers as he decides on the number to wear for the Nerazzurri.

Mkhitaryan currently wears the shirt number 77 for Roma, but he will not be able to take up this number at the Nerazzurri as it is currently worn by midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

However, the Armenian will be able to pick the 22 shirt that he wore for much of his early career up until his time at Shakhtar Donetsk, and which he also wore at Manchester United, once Vidal leaves and the shirt number is unused.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old also wore the 7 shirt while at Arsenal, which is the shirt currently worn by Sanchez who is also set to leave the club, although the 10 shirt which he wore at Borussia Dortmund is currently taken by Lautaro Martinez.
