Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni is set to start for the Italian national team in their Nations League match against Germany this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who also report that Nerazzurri midfielder Nicolo Barella will drop to the bench for the match.

Barella started for the Azzurri in their loss to Argentina in the Finalissima at Wembley on Wednesday evening, whilst Bastoni was on the bench as the trusted duo of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonuccia started in defense.

However, coach Roberto Mancini is set to make some rotations to his squad for this evening’s match, with Barella dropping out as the coach looks to play a midfield of Bryan Cristante, Sandro Tonali, and Manuel Locatelli.

Meanwhile, Bastoni will come into the backline along with Francesco Acerbi, and they will be flanked by Leonardo Spinazzola on the left and Alessandro Florenzi on the right.
