Inter fans are venting their frustration at owners Suning online as the possibility that Alessandro Bastoni could be sold to Tottenham Hotspur this summer becomes more concrete.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the hashtag #SuningOut has been trending on Twitter as Nerazzurri supporters react to the transfer rumours about Bastoni.

Many Inter fans have already been frustrated with the direction of the club under Suning since last summer’s big name sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku, and anxious since it was reported that the club have decided to make another major sale this summer.

Recent reports have suggested that Bastoni would be the likeliest big name player to go, with Tottenham lining up a €70 million bit for the 23-year-old at the urging of Antonio Conte.

The defender is happy in a Nerazzurri shirt and has no real desire to leave, but would accept a move away and a reunion with former Inter coach Conte in the event that the club accept an offer from Tottenham.

Even though promises have come repeatedly from club President Steven Zhang and other senior figures that the club will still strengthen to be competitive during the summer, fan anger and skepticism remain.

The Nerazzurri are close to signing Andre Onana and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on free transfers, whilst Paulo Dybala should soon follow and a return for Romelu Lukaku does not look unrealistic.

Should the Nerazzurri complete this ambitious summer transfer business and more, it would go some way towards repairing the feeling with many fans.

However, the fact remains that a big money sale of a young player who has been a pillar of the Nerazzurri’s defense such as Bastoni would be a symbol of a negative direction for the club in the eyes of many fans.

Right now the atmosphere among Nerazzurri supporters is tense and nervous, as well as boiling over into anger, reflected in the fact that as of yesterday, over 13,000 tweets were made containing the hashtag #SuningOut.
