Empoli are hoping that a bidding war emerges for the signature of midfielder Kristjan Asllani amid interest from Inter and other clubs in Serie A and in Europe.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that all of the Nerazzurri, Napoli, AC Milan, and Newcastle United are keen on the 20-year-old.

Inter have identified Asllani as their priority target to back up Marcelo Brozovic in their squad for next season, but convincing Empoli on a deal could prove to be tricky.

This could be made even more difficult by the competition that they would face, with Napoli also interested among top Serie A clubs and Newcastled having recently come forward with interest.

Meanwhile, Milan would be ready to sign Asllani this summer but then loan him back to Empoli, a possible advantage for them given that the Tuscan club are keen to still be able to rely on the midfielder next season.
