Fiorentina could reignite their interest in Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi during this summer’s transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that La Viola could ask for the 26-year-old on loan with an obligation to buy him permanently for the upcoming season.

Fiorentina are aiming to reinforce their midfield, particularly with Lucas Torreira not set to make the switch from Arsenal following his loan spell last season.

Sensi had been one of the Tuscans’ major targets last summer, as head coach Vincenzo Italiano is an admirer, but in the end they decided on Torreira instead, while Sensi stayed at Inter for the first half of the season before going out on loan to Sampdoria for the second.

The 26-year-old could be up for sale on a permanent basis this summer, however, and La Viola would be interested in bringing him in on an initial loan containing a purchase obligation, whilst Montpellier’s Teji Savanier is their backup option.
