Inter could look to offer Atalanta a swap deal of wingback Valentino Lazaro for defender Berat Djimsiti this summer.

This according to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, who reported on his YouTube channel via FCInter1908 that Lazaro is a target for La Dea during the summer transfer window and that the Nerazzurri are thinking of asking for Djimsiti as part of a deal for him.

Lazaro is not in the Nerazzurri’s plans for the upcoming season, and the club’s aim will be to offload him permanently after his return from his loan spell with Benfica during the season just gone.

Atalanta are interested in the Austrian, and could make their offer to sign him either purely with cash or a player-plus-cash offer.

The Nerazzurri would be interested in Djmsiti, as the 29-year-old has the experience playing in a back three to bolster their backline and could also allow Federico Dimarco to be used principally as a left-wingback rather than a central defensive option.

“Inter are consider a swap deal with Atalanta involving Lazaro and Djimsiti,” Barzaghi said, “it could be an interesting option to shore up the defense, and perhaps to move Dimarco to left-wingback permanently.”
