The agent of Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has issued an update on his client’s future, stating that he has absolutely no intention of leaving the club this summer.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti emphasized that Bastoni will not depart from the Nerazzurri this summer despite rumours of a sale.

Bastoni has emerged as one of the main candidates for a sale this summer with Inter likely to have to make a big name sale during the window to meet financial targets.

Interest in the 23-year-old has particularly come from the Premier League, with former Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte keen on a reunion with him at Tottenham Hotspur according to various reports.

However, the player has indicated that he prefers to stay at Inter when asked about his future, whilst coach Simone Inzaghi would also reportedly be reluctant to see him go.

Bastoni’s agent has further stressed that he does not expect Bastoni to leave this summer, stating that “Bastoni will definitely stay at Inter. He has a contract with the club and is happy to play here.”

Then Tinti was asked if a contract extension for the young Italian international defender was on the cards which he didn’t exclude saying, “I respect signed contracts, but there is no problem if they call me [for new talks].”

Asked about which other business he had discussed with the Nerazzurri in his meeting with the club today, Tinti said, “I have a lot of business with them, there’s Ranocchia and then there are some young players.”

And asked about the future of Ranocchia and whether the 34-year-old’s contract could be extended, he said that “There’s always a possibility.”
