Young Inter midfielder Valentin Carboni is set to be promoted from the Primavera team to the senior first team this summer.

This according to yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 17-year-old will be called up to the first team as preparations begin for next season after impressing with the Primavera team last season.

Carboni was among the key players for the Nerazzurri’s Under-19 championship win in the campaign just gone, and the club are assessing his future in light of the significant step up taken during the season just gone.

The Argentine could begin training with the Nerazzurri’s senior players in the preseason, and should also be included in senior matchday squads in the season to come.

Carboni will likely still play much of his football with the Primavera team in the immediate future, but the club are now starting to think about his introduction to senior football.
