Legendary former Inter striker Christian Vieri believes that the Nerazzurri will not see the quality of their squad drop off during the summer transfer window no matter what happens.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Vieri gave the view that even if Inter are to sell a big name player this summer, it will not cause the team to be weakened significantly.

Inter fans are anxious given the numerous reports linking some of the most high-profile players in the team with a summer sale, which the club could be forced into in order to meet financial targets for the summer.

The big money sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku last summer still stick in the memory, and the Nerazzurri faithful will be hoping to avoid another similar summer, even if it were only to mean one big name player sold rather than two like last time around.

For his part, Vieri feels that the quality of the team is strong enough that they can withstand the loss of an important player and will be able to replace well in the transfer market.

“Inter have a great squad, but they will not be dismantled,” he said. “If one player leaves, another excellent player arrives in his place. Inter are a strong team, they have no problems.”

“We have to wait and see what happens,” Vieri added, “Lukaku wants to come back, as far as Lautaro we don’t know if he’ll stay or go. Yesterday Dybala’s agent was at the club’s headquarters, let’s see what happens. We just have to wait.”
