Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito is a target for newly-appointed Empoli head coach Paolo Zanetti.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Tuscan side are set to make the 19-year-old one of their transfer targets for the upcoming season.

Zanetti has already worked with Esposito for half a season, during the latter half of the 2020-21 campaign when the young striker was on loan with Venezia, and the coach is a fan of the player.

The 19-year-old is back from a loan with Basel last season and his future is up in the air, although he has been offered to Empoli as part of a potential deal for midfielder Kristjan Asllani.

The Tuscans could be more keen on the 19-year-old on the basis of their new coach’s interest in him, and could step up their interest as they begin planning for next season with Zanetti confirmed to be replacing Aurelio Andreazzoli on the bench next season.
