Inter are aiming to sign Genoa wingback Andrea Cambiaso, and the player would prefer a move to the Nerazzurri over other destinations.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri made clear in talks with the player’s agent yesterday that they aim to sign him, and that their interest is reciprocated.

Cambiaso looks all but certain to be sold in the summer, with Genoa needing to cash in rather than lose him on a free transfer next summer and potentially hurrying on a deal to get it done before registration for Serie B.

The likes of Napoli, Juventus, and Sevilla are all also interested in the 22-year-old, but the Nerazzurri told his agent Giovanni Bia in a meeting yesterday that they are serious, and the player’s preference would be to join Inter.

Should Cambiaso be signed, it is not certain what his immediate future would be, as coach Simone Inzaghi would want to assess him in training and decide whether to keep him in the squad for next campaign or loan him out.
