Tottenham Hotspur are still pushing to sign Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni during the summer transfer window.

This according to UK magazine The Athletic, via FCInterNews, who report that the Premier League club would have a budget of more than €50 million to spend on a defender and that Bastoni remains a major target for them.

Former Inter and current Spurs coach Antonio Conte is keen on a reunion with Bastoni in North London, and has been pushing for the signing of the 23-year-old although so far his team have not made major inroads for the defender’s signing.

Tottenham have lined up some alternatives to Bastoni, including the likes of RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Villarreal’s Pau Torres, and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, and are prepared to spend over €50 million on the position.

However, they have also not lost hope of signing Bastoni, and could step up their interest in him during the window.
