Manchester United are interested in Inter defenders Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni for a potential summer transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Red Devils have asked about the Nerazzurri duo as they plot a summer revamp of their defense.

United are looking to build a squad suited to the demands of newly-appointed head coach Erik Ten Hag, starting with a new-look backline.

Bastoni has already been linked as the Red Devils are admirers of the 23-year-old, but they are also keen on a move for de Vrij, who is one year away from the expiration of his current contract and could be sold this summer.

United have asked Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio about the availability of the two defenders although so far their interest has not progressed to making a serious offer to try and sign either of them.
