The newly-appointed Technical Director of Monza Francois Modesto will meet with Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia regarding a possible summer move to the newly-promoted club for the 34-year-old.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that speaking to Ranocchia about a possible free transfer to the Lombard club will be one of the first items on Modesto’s agenda in his role.

Modesto has been named in the Technical Director role to guide Monza into their first season back in the top flight, and Ranocchia is one of the player who the club will be targeting to bolster their ranks with top flight experience.

The 34-year-old’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of the month, and if the club do not exercise an option to extend it by a further season then he will be available as a free transfer this summer.

Modesto will speak to Ranocchia about the possibility of a move, whilst he will also be in contact with former Nerazzurri and Lazio winger Antonio Candreva about a potential move from Sampdoria.
