Robin Gosens is set to inherit the Number 8 shirt at Inter for next season following the departure of Matias Vecino from the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 27-year-old will revert to the shirt number which he wore at Atalanta as he is set to become the first-choice starter on the left side of the team.

Gosens wore the Number 18 shirt in his first half a season at Inter, as when he arrived from Atalanta during the January transfer window his old number was taken by Matias Vecino.

However, Vecino will leave Inter this summer with his current contract set to expire at the end of the month, and so it will be free for the German.

After a half-season spent getting back to fitness following a lengthy injury and settling into the team behind Ivan Perisic, Gosens will be aiming to make the Nerazzurri’s left flank his own next season.
