Chelsea could lower their demand on a loan fee for Romelu Lukaku to €15 million, or they could ask Inter for Stefan de Vrij as part of a deal for the Belgian.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giornale, who report that the Premier League side are ready to try and find a solution to make a loan return for Lukaku to the Nerazzuri work,

The size of Chelsea’s investment in Lulkaku means that they would be very reluctant to allow the 29-year-old to be loaned out after just one season without collecting something substantial in return for him.

The Blues had been hoping for €25 million as a loan fee, to make up for the €23 million that they have budgeted to spend on the transfer in the upcoming season, but they could drop to €15 million given the fact that they would be saving on the €25 million gross wages of the Belgian.

Meanwhile, Chelsea would be very interested in a player coming the other way as part of a deal, and defender Stefan de Vrij is a player of great interest to them given that they must strengthen their defense this summer.
