Marseille head coach Jorge Sampaoli is interested in signing Inter forward Joaquin Correa this summer and is asking his club to try and bring the 27-year-old in.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Argentine coach has identified Correa as a target and that the move would likely be a loan rather than a permanent sale.

Sampaoli has worked with Correa in the past, when he was in charge of Sevilla, and is a fan of the Argentine who he is keen to bring in to strengthen Marseille now that they have Champions League football next season.

The Ligue 1 side could offer a loan deal, although it remains to be seen what the structure of any deal could be and whether Inter would be ready to consider their offer.

With the likes of Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku both linked with moves to the Nerazzurri and only Alexis Sanchez set to depart among the forwards, a departure of Correa could be on the cards to make way in the attacking positions.
