Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is in London where he is talking with his club to try and convince them to work out a deal with Inter on a paid loan this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is pushing for his club to lower the asking price on a loan fee so that the deal is feasible for the Nerazzurri.
Chelsea would be willing to consider a paid loan of Lukaku despite the fact that he only arrived last summer for a big money fee, but they would still expect a significant loan fee in order to make the deal happen.
The Blues’ initial request had been for around €25 million, equivalent to what the Belgian will cost them in their budget for the season, while they’ve gone as low as €20 million.
This would still be difficult for Inter, however, and the player is trying to persuade his club to go down to around €10 million in their asking price for the loan fee so that his desired return to the Nerazzurri can happen.
