Chelsea have asked Inter about the availability of defenders Alessandro Bastoni and Stefan de Vrij during talks regarding a possible loan return of striker Romelu Lukaku.

This according to Italian news outlet La Repubblica, who report that the Blues would be interested in one of the two Nerazzurri defenders coming the other way as part of a deal for Lukaku.

Inter and Chelsea are sitting down for formal talks about Lukaku for the first time, and the Premier League team are thinking of asking for a player in return, with a number of Nerazzurri players of interest to them.

Lautaro Martinez is not a player who the Blues would be interested in signing as part of a deal for Lukaku, but given their need to shore up their defense following the departures of several players, they could look to sign a defender from Inter.

Bastoni and de Vrij are two of the players who they are keenest on, and they have made this known to Inter.
