Striker Edin Dzeko has sent Inter a message that they should not be too hasty about moving on from him with his performance and brace in the Bosnian national team’s 3-2 win over Finland yesterday.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the 36-year-old’s display will have given the Nerazzurri much to think about before they think of making big name signings in his place.

Dzeko is one of the players linked with a possible exit from Inter this summer in the event that they complete the high profile attacking signings of Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala during the transfer window.

Offloading Dzeko could well make space within the Nerazzurri’s squad and wage bill for new arrivals, but the Bosnian still believes that he has plenty to contribute at the highest level.

The striker was key to his team’s 3-2 win over Finland in a topsy-turvy match in the Nations League, and he will feel that he can again have an impact for his club, having bagged seventeen goals during the season just gone.
