Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is set to leave Inter after being paid severance pay as it does not seem that a transfer is progressing quickly enough, according to a report in the Italian print midfield.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the former Barcelona midfielder had it written into his contract that he can have an extra year with the Nerazzurri or Inter can release him with a substantial severance payment.

Arturo Vidal has already confirmed via social media that he will be playing elsewhere next season but Inter have been waiting to see if a transfer materialises to a club such as Flamengo.

Inter have already planned for his exit given that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will arrive on a free transfer from AS Roma soon and Kristjan Asllani is very close to joining and improving the midfield options.

Inter will soon stop paying Arturo Vidal’s €6.5 million salary.
