Fiorentina could make an approach for Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi after their deal for Florian Grillitsch hit a stalemate, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by La Nazione, La Viola seemed set to sign Austrian midfielder Florian Grillitsch from Hoffenheim this summer but the negotiations appear to have stalled and now they are looking elsewhere.

Fiorentina need a new midfielder after Lucas Torreira returned to Arsenal at the end of his loan spell. They could now try to ignite a deal for Stefano Sensi who has just returned to the Nerazzurri after a loan spell at Sampdoria for six months.

The deal for Florian Grillitsch is not 100% over yet but if it is, that is when Fiorentina will come knocking. They could also make a move for another Inter midfielder, Roberto Gagliardini.

He is looking for a new challenge after limited game time last season.
