Inter president Steven Zhang gave a speech to employees at Interello recently where he asked them to ignore rumours about Suning selling the club, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, the quotes from the speech at Interello have come to light and it is clear that Steven Zhang has no interest in walking away from his post.

“We have experienced a tough time for everyone due to the pandemic, but we are lucky to work in football, a sector that gives strong emotions: we have experienced some unique ones by winning three trophies.

“Let’s close our ears about the speculation coming from outside about the club, and let’s work to win together again.”

Steven Zhang also talked about the fact that when Suning first took charge of Juventus, he would never have imagined some of the results that the team was able to achieve under Simone Inzaghi during the 2021/22 season.

“Six years ago I would not have even imagined it, especially if they had told me that we would beat Juventus twice in the final.”

Inter beat the Bianconeri in both the Supercoppa Italiana final and the Coppa Italia final last season. They also finished above them in Serie A for the second consecutive campaign.
