Monza have reached an agreement with Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia for him to join them for the next two seasons, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on his website, the newly-promoted side have been in talks with the Italian defender for some time but they have made the breakthrough and found an agreement with him.

The 34-year-old defender will sign a two-year deal with Monza with the medical examinations scheduled for June 21. It is likely that the deal will be made official very soon and he will be the first signing for Monza since getting into Serie A for the first time in their 110-year history.

There is no negotiation involved with Inter because Andrea Ranocchia is out of contract with the Nerazzurri on June 30.

He has been at Inter for almost eleven years and was the team captain in the 2014/15 season.
